Man has struggled against death ever since Adam and Eve took the fruit of knowledge, and were removed from the Garden of Eden. Or; for the sake of being non-secular, when Homo rhodesiensis evolved into Homo neanderthalensis and Homo sapiens. No matter your believes on the coming of man he has fought to live forever. The Fountain of Youth, the Philosopher’s Stone, and other symbols of man’s desire to exist forever in this world show the obsessive nature of this desire. Even legends of quest for immortality such as The Epic of Gilgamesh and The Search for the Holy Grail continue to fuel the generations in this search. Now imagine if you could hide from death right under the grim reapers nose?
